Pastor Norman James
Pastor Norman L. James is a native of Suffolk Virginia and has been married to his wife Pastor Dr. Terri James for 38 years.
Pastor James attended Faith Temple Apostolic Church as a youth, under the leadership of the late Bishop Obadiah Colander.
Pastor James enlisted in the United States Army in 1978. He fought in the Desert Storm War and received the Silver Star for bravery for saving his company from being ambush in Iraq. Pastor James was known by his company as the “preaching First Sergeant” throughout his tour in Desert Storm. He retired after 26 years of service with the United States Army.
Pastor James was a license Minister with Church of God in Christ for 15 years. During his traveling with the United States Army, he was affiliated with the following Churches: Church of Deliverance, Junction City Kansas, under the leadership of Bishop Mary Pope, Emmanuel Christ of God in Christ and New Birth Church of God in Christ West Germany, under the leadership of Carl Singleton, Lifeline Temple Church of God in Christ, Elizabethtown, Kentucky, under the leadership of Elder Willie Jones, Garden of Prayer Church of God in Christ, Columbus Georgia, under the leadership of Pastor Jessie Brown, and Manasseh Church of God in Christ, Knightdale, NC under the leadership of the late Elder Emmitt Turner and the presiding Pastor Elder Harold McDonald.
Pastor James along with his wife Pastor Dr. Terri James is the founder of New Beginning Church of Deliverance in Knightdale, NC. He is committed to preaching and teaching the word of God. Pastor James has a great love for God’s people and compassion for the youth in the church and community. Pastor James has a burden for the men in God’s army; his prayer is that the men will take their rightful place in the army of the Lord.
Pastor Dr. Terri James
Native of Gatesville, NC, Elder Dr. Terri James is the daughter of Betty Jean Boone. Her spiritual journey began at the tender age of 12, where she embraced the Lord's guidance. At 16, within the nurturing confines of New Piney Wood Baptist Church under the guidance of the late Rev. Lewis, she experienced the transformative power of the Holy Ghost. For 42 years, she has walked hand in hand with her husband, Pastor Norman James, answering the call to ordained ministry alongside him in 2008.
Dr. Terri James is not only a dedicated servant of God but also a licensed chaplain and esteemed author, whose work has earned her recognition as a #1 Amazon best-selling author. With over 20 years of experience in the human resource industry, consulting for federal, state, and Fortune 500 companies, she brings a wealth of expertise to her role as founder and CEO of Divine HR Consulting.
Driven by her passion for integrating spiritual values into organizational dynamics, she ensures that human capital within churches and organizations serves the greater good while fostering an environment of spiritual inclusion.
Equipped with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Sullivan College, a Master's in Human Resource Management from Troy State University (graduating Cum Laude), a second Master's in Philosophy and Management from Walden University, and a Doctorate in Organizational Management with a specialization in Human Resource also from Walden University.
Dr. Terri James is a beacon of academic achievement. Her dedication to scholarship has earned her nominations for Outstanding Dissertation Study, Outstanding Student Research, and Outstanding Doctoral Study.
